Spunky Suns snap 27-game win streak, 112-116.

DeAndre Ayton had a career-high 20 rebounds to go with 27 points, whereas Dejounte Murray made a mental blunder catching the inbound pass as one foot dangled over the half-court line, on what Coach Popovich revealed post-game was meant to be an ISO jumper-attempt to win the game by Brandon Ingram (20 points, 7-16). Instead, Devin Booker hit a go-ahead push jumper at the free throw line and Ingram drew contact but missed a layup at the buzzer as the win streak crumbled in the valley of the sun.

The Suns become now the only team to defeat the titanic Spurs twice this season, claiming two of the team's only five defeats. "They play with heart," Coach Pop spoke highly of the Suns, who find themselves behind the #8 seed Golden State Warriors, having slipped a bit recently after a turnaround season. "Depending on where the ball drops at season's end, we could be seeing them again." If Phoenix uses this huge victory to go on a much-needed run, they could very well play against San Antonio in the first round of the playoffs. Time will tell...

Meanwhile, Murray had a poor showing with only 11 points. Kent Bazemore scored 16 points, as the Spurs tried to involve Andre Drummond to no avail, going 5-12 with just 10 points, 10 rebounds. P.J. Tucker continued to play well, notching 14 points. Fred VanVleet has surged into 44% from 3PT range on the season, going 4-7 tonight for 14 points also, as Joe Harris scored 9 points and nearly won the game for the Spurs, only for the champions to blow a 103-96 advantage.

The Rest:

Thomas Bryant scored 11 points. Rajon Rondo had 8 assists. For the Suns, Brandon Ingram chased Devin Booker off the 3PT line, but he still finished with 24 points. Frank Kaminsky had a terrific game with 19 points, going 3-3 from long range. Dario Saric also had a strong 15 points.
